Parablechnum triangularifolium - Green Bay Kiokio (Blechnum triangularifolium)
Stout erect rhizomes producing runners. Large green drooping sterile fronds 15-65cm long. Characterised by almost triangular fronds with the lower-most pinnae scarcely shorter than any upper ones. Often confused with Blechnum NZ. Coastal and montane on slopes, banks and cliffs under light scrub or coastal forest north of north Canterbury. Hardy. Rarely available from nurseries. One of our favourites.
